At the completion of this course students shall: - have acquired insight into the characteristics and importance of the British novel in the 20th century - be able to analyze novels as an important source for understanding cultural values and conflicts - have acquired a deeper appreciation of the novel genre as a creative and expressive form of art, making people's lives, beliefs and language come alive.

One compulsory essay must be assessed as a Pass. A 4-hour written examination. Graded assessment. The syllabus pensum will be published on the faculty's website when finalised.
